Dear Cork Cultural Companions
This month at Triskel, don’t miss the stunning trad stylings of Munnelly & McGowan on Friday 4 August, the first in a series of concerts paying tribute to the late Michael Crowley and contribution to the music community of Cork and beyond. We also have Then I Laid the Floor, an installation by artists Brian Maguire, James Concagh and Robert Chase Heishman in our Gallery Space, which is showing until Saturday 30 September. Watch the documentary by Robert Chase Heishman on the big screen every Sunday at 1.30pm. We’re bookending the month with four great movies in Triskel Cinema. You can watch Mother and Son and Name Me Lawand until tomorrow and later this month, catch Penelope Cruz-starring drama L’immensità and the captivating French drama Paris Memories. We also look ahead to some great shows in the autumn and have loads planned for Culture Night, Friday 22 September, so mark that date in your diary and check out more upcoming live music on our website! You’ll see that tickets are on sale for the Cork Folk Festival and Guinness Cork Jazz Festival so make sure to get yours before they’re gone. Our two popular lunchtime classical music concert series are back so get your tickets for the Autumn String Series with the National String Quartet Foundation and the Spotlight Chamber Music Series now.
