LHQ Exhibition The Skiapod of Ballymaccus, a Solo Exhibition by Stephen Brandes at LHQ Gallery

LHQ Exhibition

In ‘The Skiapod of Ballymaccus’ Stephen Brandes re-imagines the scarcely credible event of the skiapods, in a body of newly made work that includes drawings, painting and a collection of hand-built figurines, set into a construction of timber and found materials. This exhibition is the outcome of the inaugural LHQ Impact Award which supports established artists to develop new work for exhibition at LHQ Gallery.

‘The Skiapod of Ballymaccus’ opens on Friday 5th June and runs until Friday 24th July at LHQ Gallery.

An opening reception will take place on Friday 5th June from 5.30pm, all are welcome to attend.

Stephen will be in conversation with Curator of Collections & Special Projects at Crawford Art Gallery, Michael Waldron at LHQ Gallery on Saturday 20th June at 12pm. LHQ Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm.

A 3D model of the Coomhola River Catchment is on display at Bantry Library for the next few weeks.

It was created by Peter Little for Streamscapes with support from LAWPRO's Bluedot Catchments Programme. The Coomhola River is one of Ireland's special 'Blue Dot' waterbodies and is among our cleanest and healthiest.

A selection of books on local Landscapes is also on display and can be borrowed.
