Triskel Visual Arts

Hi Cork Cultural Companions

Welcome to the Triskel Visual Arts Newsletter. Have you been into the Triskel Sample Project Space lately? Grace Haynes is producing gorgeous work as part of her residency and it’s fascinating seeing the progress she’s making on beautiful new pieces. She also has some pieces for sale if anyone’s interested (ideal Christmas gift …). Grace is also planning an event to finish up her residency so keep an eye out for news on that.

Elinor O’Donovan’s light projection of Winter Sun is still available to watch on the façade of Triskel Christchurch. As I type, the rain is just bucketing down and I really appreciate the feeling of warmth her work provokes. Dr Matthew Whyte is leading a guided walk of the Island City sculptures today at 1pm. That is currently booked out but he will be doing more in 2025 so stay tuned for more on those.

There are just two weeks left in Áine Andrews’ lovely series on Famous Paintings and their Hidden Histories and we hope you can join her for all the behind-the-scenes stuff about The Farm at Lezaven by Roderic O Connor and The Nativity by Mainie Jellet.

Matthew and Áine will return with their series in the spring and you can get your tickets for those now (don’t forget there’s a 20% series discount!).

See you soon
