Fridays, 10am–12pm July 26 & August 2, 9, 16 Culminating performance: 2–3pm Sat, August 17 Greywood Arts and artist Noelle Ní Ríagáin are inviting older aged women to come together and look at how we might celebrate Lughnasadh today.
In Irish Mythology Lughnasadh began when the god Lugh held funeral games in the memory of his foster-mother "Tailtiu”
Over the course of 4 workshops, we will explore this story and discover how women of today might celebrate a funeral for a Goddess. On August 17th, we will enter Glenbower Wood to honor “Tailtiu’s” memory, acknowledge her significance and reflect on the cycles of life and nature. |
