Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts initiative, delivered by Muintir Cork and supported by the HSE and Cork City and County Councils. Cork Cultural Companions has local networks of members who attend events together regularly in Cork City, Mallow, Bantry and East Cork.

Professional Class with Mariah Maloney | Thursday 1 February, 11am-12:30pm

In this class participants will explore wellness and spark creativity as movers. You're invited to take time to tune in, rejuvenate, activate, and enjoy physical explorations as you listen to your body. You will invite ease, articulation, and buoyancy as you dance and explore improvisation scores.

MASTERCLASS with Junk Ensemble | Friday 9 February, 11am - 1pm at Dance Cork Firkin Crane

Junk Ensemble’s workshop (led by Artistic Directors Jessica Kennedy & Megan Kennedy) will be energising and physically inclusive, and include movement tasks, text prompts and writing/memory exercises, with a specific lens on the themes explored in their current touring production Dances Like a Bomb.

TAKE OFF FESTIVAL | Wednesday 14 - Friday 16 February, 7:30pm

Take Off Festival returns this February, inviting audiences to discover performances by experienced and emerging choreographers with flavours of contemporary, Irish dance and hip hop.

Featuring Jean-Baptiste Baele (Belgium/Norway), Structure-couple (France), and Irish based artists Stephanie Keane, Mary Nunan, Amir Sabra, Inma Pavon, Billy Kemp & Mick O'Shea, and Andrea Williams.

Crane Visual at Dance Cork Firkin Crane in association with the Grilse Gallery, Killorglin, are proud to present Le Salon du Kerry; a group exhibition of artists selected from both County Kerry and from the print collection of the Grilse Gallery.
Volunteer with us!
Support Dance Cork Firkin Crane & local dance artists by volunteering with us.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us in the lead-up to and during Take Off Festival 2024. We are seeking individuals or pairs of volunteers for both distribution of programmes and flyers in the run up to Take Off Festival, and as ushers / front of house assistants for the festival itself (14-16 February).
