– The Guardian

“A mesmerising piece of theatre balanced somewhere between the stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and a zen meditation session. The evening made me feel as if I was a child again, enthralled by a magical story [about Sparkplug]” – Michael Harding, The Irish Times

Monica is on the edge, literally! She’s had enough, of being nice and reasonable and sensible, not to mention her temperamental fffing washing machine. She wants to scream and shout. She wants more… including but not limited to the perfect cocktail … of hormones!

A bold, truthful and delightfully comic leapfrog through all the taboo minefields of female hormones and sexuality from menstruation to menopause and everything in between.

Tuesday 6th – Saturday 17th February 2024 @ 8pm

After twenty-five years of marriage, the emergence of love handles, body parts that sag and receding hairlines, Alice and Henry have hit an intimate waste land. Bed is for sleeping, watching Netflix and flicking through Facebook. The only sounds coming from behind the closed bedroom door is snoring and the odd gasp for air.

With a “Sex for Dummies” guidebook in hand Alice convinces Henry into a weekend of alone time in a posh hotel, with the the hopes of seducing him, unearthing her inner vixen and relighting the fire they had. Henry, however, wants to keep things the way they are ‘we’re grand’ – comfortable and easy.
