Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts initiative, delivered by Muintir Cork and supported by the HSE and Cork City and County Councils. Cork Cultural Companions has local networks of members who attend events together regularly in Cork City, Mallow, Bantry and East Cork.

You gotta trust the future is gonna be a bit sexy: NAF Dance 

How to emotionally navigate the passing of time? A coming-of-age story, presented in the format of a black and white film, with influences from the worlds of cinema, literature and music. Choreographer: Nóra Ní Anluain Fay. Performers: Femke Adema, Sorcha Murphy.

Combining film, installation, live aerial acrobatic dance and soundscape, DETACHED explores the complex relationship between personal identity and the impact of our surroundings and the concept of home on our sense of self. Detached (9 min) will be presented on loop in Gallery II from 3 - 5 November. Each evening performance will be followed by a drinks reception and audience discussion

Tempo Rubato: Dance Performance by Tipperary Dance

At the heart of this dance trio is a slow pulse, a form of resistance, opposing the breakdown of a world that is witnessing the disruption of its biological, social and geopolitical paradigms.

Created by Alexandre Iseli in collaboration with choreographic collaborator: Polina Kremasta 

Dancers: Robyn Byrne, Rocio Dominguez and Eleni Roberts Kazouri.

The evening performance will be followed by a closing discussion with choreographer Alexandre Iseli and UDS Curator Luke Murphy.

Uillinn Dance Season, now in its sixth year, has established itself as an extraordinary platform for Ireland’s most cutting-edge dance artists to perform. Taking place from 27 October to 5 November 2023, the programme combines live performance, film screenings and discussion in a series of matinee and late night evening events. This year’s programme presents diverse and vibrant work by leading dance artists for audiences in West Cork over 10 days.

  • No booking required and free entry to film screening and exhibition in galleries.
