Roots & Shoots: Forgotten Photos |
‘Forgotten Photos’ is a visual art workshop held with artist Frances Crowe as part of the national Bealtaine Festival Roots and Shoots Visual Arts programme. Following on from the success of the 'In Memory of Cloth' Project which Frances facilitated in May of 2022 at Roscommon Arts Centre, she will now investigate how 'Forgotten Photographs' can be manipulated by hand stitching directly onto these vintage images with colourful thread. These worn photographs carry enigmatic narratives which can be brought to life with a needle and thread. |

Here's a recap of our Week 1 in-house programme: |
Now in its third year, National Arts in Nursing Homes Day takes place on the third Friday of May as part of Bealtaine Festival.
The day celebrates and promotes the integral role the arts play in supporting resident care.
Around 100 nursing homes hosted celebrations in 2022, with 2023 looking to build upon previous years’ successes. Nursing home staff, residents, members of daycare centres and their families and visitors will participate in celebrations on Friday, 19th May.
With three weeks to go, you still have time to join the celebrations! Please register your nursing home's event on our Bealtaine website. |
