Water, Wellness & Memories: A Special Community Workshop in Midleton

Discover the stories that flow through our landscapes and communities at Water, Wellness & Memories, a unique guided walk and interactive workshop hosted by Cork Cultural Companions in partnership with WiseWater Academy.

Taking place on Wednesday, 12th August at 11.00am in Midleton, this welcoming event invites participants to reflect on the important role that water plays in our lives, our wellbeing, and our shared heritage.

Beginning at the Kindred Spirits Sculpture, the workshop combines a gentle guided walk with opportunities to share memories and personal stories inspired by rivers, lakes, beaches, harbours, and other special places connected to water. Whether it's a childhood swimming spot, a favourite walk by the river, or memories of family days by the sea, every story helps celebrate the rich natural heritage that surrounds us.

Led by the experienced team from WiseWater Academy, the event encourages conversation, connection, and appreciation of the landscapes that shape our communities. As part of the Nature Then & Now community project, supported by Cork County Council and The Heritage Council, participants may also choose to have their memories recorded (with permission) to become part of the wider project.

This is a relaxed, inclusive event designed for Cultural Companions members and anyone interested in local heritage, nature, and wellbeing. No specialist knowledge is needed—just bring your curiosity and your stories.
