Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts initiative, delivered by Muintir Cork and supported by the HSE and Cork City and County Councils. Cork Cultural Companions has local networks of members who attend events together regularly in Cork City, Mallow, Bantry and East Cork.

Ó Bhéal's 18th (and Ultimate) Anniversary Event with the launch of   Five Words Vol XVIII - 14th April
featuring competition winners ... Lucie Pereira (1st), Dean Gessie (2nd) and Em Egan Reeve (3rd)

Event is Hybrid, hosted in-person (at the Long Valley, Winthrop, St Cork) and on Zoom
Live Streamed via www.obheal.ie/liveVimeoFB Live and YouTube

Poetry-Films from Ó Bhéal's competition archives begin from 7.00pm, followed by the Five Word poetry challenge at 8.30pm. Guest poets start at around 9.30pm. The evening will end with an open-mic session dedicated to other poets' poetry.

Be sure to email us at info@obheal.ie if you'd like to participate online via Zoom. All are welcome to attend in-person.

Competitions



The 13th Ó Bhéal International Poetry-Film Competition

will open for submissions on the 1st of May.

Ó Bhéal is grateful to The Cork City Council, Foras na GaeilgePoetry Ireland and The Arts Council for their continued support.

            



Between 2007-2019 Ó Bhéal took place weekly, with over 50 Monday evenings per year in the Hayloft Bar (Long Valley), Cork.

Since January 2020, Ó Bhéal has been held on the second Monday of each month.
