March at the Triskel

Hi Cork Cultural Companions

Welcome to the Triskel Newsletter for March. As you scroll through this month’s newsletter, you will see there’s a LOT happening! From workshops to lecture series, from a symposium to a silent cinema with live music event, there’s something for everyone and we hope you will join us for what promises to be an eclectic and exciting month.

There are several seasons happening in Triskel Cinema: From the Mind of David Lynch celebrates the late director with six films showing from Sun 16 - Wed 19 Mar; it’s been 30 years since Jesse and Céline wandered through Vienna and now you can watch the Before Sunrise Trilogy here; Cork International Film Festival returns with Fear Screen - four more horrifying films to give you all the chills!

Fionnuala Moynihan brings us two concerts showcasing The Complete Chopin Nocturnes. The Nocturnes are often included in programmes of other music but are rarely performed in their entirety so this is a very special treat for Cork audiences. Fionnuala will be chatting with Matt Cooper on Culture Club on The Last Word on Today FM next Wednesday so make sure to tune in for that!

We’re going jazzy for Patrick’s Weekend this year with the Paul Dunlea Quintet joining us on Friday 14 March before Ethan Iverson takes over on Saturday 15 March with solo piano.

So much happening so make yourself a cuppa and relax as you scroll through all the great music, cinema and visual art ahead of you this month at Triskel.

See you soon
