Ortus Chamber Music Festival 26 Feb to 2nd March 2025

Ortús Chamber Music Festival Celebrates 10 Years!

It’s a milestone year for Cork’s own Ortús Chamber Music Festival, which marks its 10th anniversary with an exciting programme from 27th February to 2nd March.
Venues across Cork city and county will come alive with world-class classical and traditional music, featuring performances at:
Blackrock Castle, Dripsey Castle Estate, Sirius Arts Centre Cobh, Aula Maxima (UCC), MTU Cork School of Music, and St Peter’s Cork.

Festival co-founder Sinéad O’Halloran (cello) will be joined by fellow members of the Marmen Quartet—Johannes Marmén (violin), Laia Valentin Braun (violin), and Bryony Gibson-Cornish (viola)—alongside acclaimed Slovenian clarinettist Aliaž Beguš.
Audiences can look forward to a rich and varied programme, spanning works by Mozart, Brahms, Bartók, and Dvořák, as well as contemporary pieces from Irish composers Sam Perkin and Ben Dwyer. This year also marks the release of the Marmen Quartet’s debut album with BIS.
Founded in 2016 by childhood friends Sinéad O’Halloran and Mairéad Hickey, the festival continues its mission to bring the world’s finest musicians to Cork.
