Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts initiative, delivered by Muintir Cork and supported by the HSE and Cork City and County Councils. Cork Cultural Companions has local networks of members who attend events together regularly in Cork City, Mallow, Bantry and East Cork.

‘Know your Numbers’ - Men’s Health Week 2024

 

The high rates of premature mortality and illness among men have notable effects, but efforts are underway to improve this situation. Taking place in Ireland from June 10th to June 16th, International Men’s Health Week 2024 provides an opportunity for positive change. New ESRI report finds that 64 per cent of 20 year old men report using online pornography

 

Those using online pornography are significantly less likely to use condoms regularly according to new research from the  ‘Use of Pornography by Young Adults in Ireland’, published in March by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).  They found that online pornography use in Ireland is highly gendered.  Read on to explore key findings from the research.

Celebrating 20 Years of Smoke-Free Ireland: A Landmark in Public Health

HSE Healthy Ireland – Healthy Islands Initiative

 

On Friday 22nd March, the first event of a HSE Healthy Ireland and Age Friendly Ireland Islands project took place on Tory Island off the coast of Donegal.  This event is one of a number of events as part of the HSE Health and Wellbeing and Age Friendly Ireland Island project with a focus on older persons support post COVID.
