Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts initiative, delivered by Muintir Cork and supported by the HSE and Cork City and County Councils. Cork Cultural Companions has local networks of members who attend events together regularly in Cork City, Mallow, Bantry and East Cork.

Celebrating its 10th year, Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry.

Today is the day to read, write, and share a poem. This year's theme is "Good Sports".

Writer in Residence for 2024

The Kerry County Council Arts Office has announced Emer Fallon as their Writer in Residence for 2024!

Emer is inviting you to take part in a new writing project - 'Writers on the bus! Scríobhnóirí ar an mbus!', connecting writers living on Kerry's Local Link routes. To find out more email: emerwriterinres@gmail.com.

Congratulations Noel!
 
Prize winning author and former Kerry writer in residence Noel O'Regan has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2024 'James Tait Black Prizes'. These prizes recognise the best fiction and biography books of the year.

A Night at the Movies

The final novel from the late Booker-shortlisted author John McGahern, 'That They May Face The Rising Sun', has been adapted into a film. It has been nominated for 11 Irish Film and Television Awards!

Beidh Féile Liteartha Chorca Dhuibhne 2024 ar siúl thar an deireadh seachtaine 15-17 de mhí na Samhna. Beidh imeachtaí éagsúla ar siúl ag ceiliúradh scríbhneoirí, léitheoirí agus leabhair. Fógrófar clár na Féile go luath i mí Meán Fómhair.

Join us in Dingle from the 15th to the 17th of November 2024. Building on the success of the Dingle Lit in 2023, this year's schedule will include a wide range of events celebrating authors, readers, and books. The programme will be announced in early September.
Many people make the festival a reality. Thank you to our Founders, Friends, volunteers, and local businesses for all your help to date. Also huge thanks to the organisations that provide grants to help fund the festival: The Arts Council, Kerry County Council, Foras na Gaeilge agus Ealaín na Gaeltachta.
