Upcoming Hybrid Events for April and May 2024 Events & Readings Ó Bhéal's 17th Anniversary Event with the launch of   Five Words Vol XVII - 8th April featuring competition winners ... Derek Sellen (1st), Mary Anne Smith Sellen (2nd) and Laura Theis (3rd) i.a.w. Cork World Book Festival     Launch: Unfinished Book of Poetry 2024 - 24th April i.a.w. Cork World Book Festival     Cork Open-Mics: A Showcase - 28th April i.a.w. Foras na Gaeilge     Joanne McCarthy & Eoin Mc Evoy - 13th May Events are Hybrid, hosted in-person (at the Long Valley, Winthrop, St Cork) and on Zoom Live Streamed via www.obheal.ie/live, Vimeo, FB Live and YouTube Poetry-Films from Ó Bhéal's competition archives begin from 7.00pm, followed by the Five Word poetry challenge at 8.30pm. Guest poets start at around 9.30pm. The evening ends with the usual open-mic session. Be sure to email us at info@obheal.ie if you'd like to participate online via Zoom. All are welcome to attend in-person. Competitions The 12th Five Words International Poetry Competition will open for submissions on Tuesday 9th April. Since January 2020, Ó Bhéal has been held on the second Monday of each month.
