We are delighted to announce the 'Emerging Visual Artist Award 2024' which will provide one artist with the opportunity to host an exhibition at LHQ Gallery.

The award aims to further an emerging artists practice at a key stage in their early career, providing a financial bursary to assist in the creation of a new body of work for the exhibition.

Cork County Council is developing a new Arts Plan.  As part of this process, we will shortly begin a programme of public and stakeholder consultation.

This  will take several formats including online surveys and local area meetings with the aim of encouraging public and arts sector engagement in the preparation of the plan

Cork County Council's role in arts provision is based on a strategic approach to:

  • Delivering arts and cultural services that contribute to a high quality of life and place
  • Improving access to and participation in the arts by all members of our community
  • Supporting the work and career development of the creative artist
  • Supporting the economic vitality of the county through the development of festivals, the creative industries and audio-visual production

Information on ways to participate will be announced in April via Council social media and in the press.
