Heroes by John Scott / Irish Modern Dance Theatre Autumn is in the air this month at Dance Cork Firkin Crane, and we are thrilled to bring you a jam-packed month of Performances, Workshops, Classes and a Crane Visual exhibition throughout the month of October.  PERFORMANCES & SHARINGS HEROES by John Scott / Irish Modern Dance Theatre Friday 20 - Saturday 21 October, 7:30pm 'What a crazy, lovely, intimate, boldly interactive, hilarious way to learn the stories from opera – and experience John Scott’s booming voice and staggering body whiz past us' - Wendy Perron – Editor Dance Magazine In this interactive dance/opera performance, choreographer, dancer and operatic tenor John Scott creates a journey that is a dance embodiment of music, through the physicality of his astonishing voice, to show two selves, human and mythological. Book a ticket to both Heroes and The Singing Body Workshop to avail of a discount. WORKSHOPS & CLASSES MORNING CLASS with Rachel Sheil | Thursday 5 October, 11am As part of her residency at Dance Cork Firkin Crane, Rachel Sheil will teach a professional morning class looking at Improvisation, Contemporary practice and elements of Street Dance. Booking & Info >>>   VINTAGE INSPIRED PROFESSIONAL CLASS with Bill Irwin | Thursday 12 October, 11am Bill Irwin returns to Dance Cork Firkin Crane to teach a vintage inspired class that looks at the easy body-twist of vintage dancing, while putting together some Vaudeville dance measures. Booking & Info >>> MORNING CLASS with Helga Deasy | Thursday 19 October, 11am Grounded in choreology and somatics, Helga Deasy's practice spans performance making, cross-disciplinary collaboration and socially engaged dance. Booking & Info >>> THE SINGING BODY WORKSHOP with John Scott | Sunday 22 October, 12pm-5pm John Scott explores the creation and development of material, spatial awareness, performance state, text, dance, wordless stories.
