‘Can you see what I see?’

‘Can you see what I see?’ is an Art Exhibition supporting living with well with Dementia.  This Exhibition is written and illustrated by Caroline Hyland.

‘Can you see what I see’ is a series of twelve hand painted illustrations with accompanying text, strongly informed by listening to people who have a dementia and those who support them, their families, friends and the medical professionals.  It advocates for a society to see the person first and not the disease.  It aims to open up conversations among all ages and promote awareness in our communities, so that we can create more supportive environments where a person living with dementia is included and valued.

Caroline Hyland is an illustrator and art facilitator, with a background in Occupational Therapy and Art Education.

Caroline’s interest in Dementia is very personal.  Her granny and three of her granny’s sisters had Alzheimer’s disease.  This project is a journey to find out more and then share her learning with others.

This Exhibition runs until the end of August at Tory Top Library
