Mobile Library ServiceMobile South, Mobile East, and Mobile North Schools will soon be out for the summer, but Cork County Council Library Service’s fleet of Mobile Libraries will still be on the road bringing books and more to towns, villages, nursing homes, and homes in rural communities all across Cork County. The four Mobile Libraries each serve an area of the county: North, South, East, and West, and they run on a fortnightly schedule. Now in its second year, National Food Waste Recycling Week will run from Monday June 5th to Sunday June 11th. This campaign, managed by MyWaste.ie will provide practical advice, with easy-to-follow hints and tips to encourage everyone to recycle more of their food waste. As part of the campaign, Cork County Council will host exhibitions and talks in a number of libraries around the county. Cantonese immigrants come from Cantonese-speaking regions of the world. They left their home countries for different reasons. Bringing their Cantonese language, heritage and more, these people settled down in beautiful Ireland. Their children may be born here. These children grow up in Ireland like all the other children here. They learn Irish in the school. Some of them play GAA or do Irish dance. They celebrate, participate and play. Offering a wide selection of books, audiobooks and DVDs, as well as access to request items from the Cork County Library Catalogue, there is something for everyone. Located on the High Street of Newmarket Town and staffed by Peter, the Library is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9.30am – 5.30pm and Wednesdays from 9.30am – 1pm.
