Dementia: Family Information Sessions Mallow and Blackrock

Mallow

A six week block of information and support sessions for relatives of people with a diagnosis of dementia will begin on Thursday 11th May 2023 and run each consecutive Thursday evening for six weeks, finishing Thursday 15th June 2023. 

It will be held from 7-9.15 pm on the floor 2 of Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre. 

It is free of charge and any family members are welcome to attend. However places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

A range of topics will be covered including:

•             An overview of dementia 

•             Changing relationships

•             Communication 

•             Legal issues

•             Understanding behaviour

•             Engaging in activities

•             Safety at home

•             Looking after yourselves

•             Accessing information and support

•             Personal care

•             Nutrition and eating well
