We regret to announce that Barbara is no longer with the organisation. We look forward to introducing you to her replacement as soon as possible. We will continue to work tirelessly in the background to fulfil the aims and objectives of Cork Cultural Companions and we are hoping to reconnect with all our partners and members in the very near future to discuss moving the project forward.
Easing
of restrictions has allowed us to get back to the people and things we love,
but adjusting has brought challenges too.
You
might be worried about the pace of the changes or what the future may bring but
it's important to be patient with yourself and with your feelings.
The
coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has been hard for us all, and we have all
experienced the effects differently.
Even
positive change can lead to anxiety, and it can take time to readjust to things
we have not done for a while.
As venues start to open up and people start to get
back out there, we are hoping to kick start Cork Cultural Companions again.
Please be patient with us as we try to get you back
to the things you love and enjoy.
1.
We will plan Cork Cultural Companions Events in
Cork City and County in the coming 12 months. These events will be selected
from list of events organised and run at the Venues based in the existing
‘Hubs’ (Cork City, Bantry, Bandon, Mallow, Mitchelstown, Cobh, Youghal and
Midleton). Venues will include libraries
and other cultural centres /settings.
2.
We will aim to have our members at the events who
will meet up before the event and be greeted by local ‘meet and greeters’.
3.
Members will be advised as to how to sign up for
events and where people will be meeting prior to the events.
4.
To facilitate this we are re-engaging with the
local committees in ‘hubs’ around Cork City and County as Covid 19 guidelines
allow. This we hope will allow for more ‘meet and greeters at local venues. If
you are interested in getting involved as a meet and greeter please let us
know.
We will send a regular Cultural Companions
Newsletter with upcoming cultural events via email/text and ordinary mail.
The
Newsletter will inform our members of upcoming Cork Cultural Companions Events
and invite you to attend these.
We appreciate your patience
