Do you enjoy dancing, socialising, meeting new people? Well… Celtic Dance Co are starting up weekly social Irish dance classes at The Lough Community Centre, Cork City every Wednesday from October for anyone 16+ looking to have some fun, socialise, keep fit and make new friends. Classes cater towards all levels.

Class fee is €10

Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra Concert in City Hall 11th Nov

Cork Fleischmann Orchestra conducted by Keith Pascoe and led by Eithne Willis will perform Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with renowned international pianist Artur Pizarro. The programme will also include Butterworth’s The Banks of Green Willow and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9. Presented by Evelyn Grant.

Frances Black is an Award winning Irish singer, songwriter, and politician. Born in Dublin, Ireland, she has left an indelible mark on the Irish music scene and has been a prominent voice for social justice and advocacy.
Frances Black's musical journey began in the late 1980s when she joined the traditional Irish music group called Arcady. Her ethereal and emotive voice quickly captivated audiences, earning her widespread recognition and acclaim. With her distinctive style and heartfelt performances, she became known for interpreting Irish folk songs and breathing new life into them.
In 1992, Frances embarked on a successful solo career, releasing her debut album, "Talk to Me." The album showcased her versatility as an artist and featured a blend of traditional and contemporary songs. Over the years, she released several more albums, including "The Smile on Your Face" and "This Love Will Carry."
Beyond her musical accomplishments, Frances Black has consistently used her platform to advocate for various social causes. She has been an outspoken advocate for issues such as mental health, human rights, and homelessness.

The Lee Sessions Trad Music

The Lee Sessions are an extensive series of traditional Irish music sessions in Cork city centre, featuring masters of traditional music. The sessions have been running continuously since May 2011 and are sponsored by Cork City Council.

Every month they screen locally made short films, sketches, music videos, and experimental film - aiming to foster a community of local filmmakers where we can see each other's work, network with each other, and also see our own work on the big screen!

Back by popular demand Oceans of Notions Theatre Company and Nano Nagle Place 

are bringing back “A Christmas Carol” to the iconic Goldie Chapel on the 30th Nov- 3rd

We’ll have evening performances from Thurs to Sun at 7pm and 2 special matinee 

performances at 3pm on Sat & Sun.

In this production, the wonderfully talented and versatile actor, Kieran O’Leary will bring 

a host of characters to life including the miserly Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, the Ghost of Jacob

Marley and the frail Tiny Tim. Accompanied by a selection of original carols from Victorian

England, sung live by the incredible Michèle de Foubert.
